上海市东方医院（同济大学附属东方医院）始建于1920年，是一所集医疗、教学、科研于一体的三级甲等综合性医院，2015年2月，被中央文明委授予“全国文明单位”荣誉称号。

    医院有南北两址，分别位于上海市浦东新区陆家嘴金融贸易区和世博园区，总建筑面积16万平方米，开放床位2000张，目前正扩建的9万平方米新大楼将增加床位500张。2015年门急诊274万人次，其中外籍患者5万余人次，出院患者6.32万，病人来自包括港、澳、台在内的全国各地和欧美等发达国家。医院拥有近8亿元的大型医疗设备，包括炫速双源CT、3.0T核磁共振、EDGE靶向放射外科系统（锐锋刀）、超高速电磁波肿瘤治疗仪、大平板DSA、PET-CT、辅助循环系统等国际先进的大型医疗设备。

Shanghai Orient Hospital was built in 1920. It has integrated medication, teaching and research as whole and met the qualification of the first grade comprehensive hospital. On February 2015, it was conferred by the central government as “national civil unit”.

The hospital has two sites in north and south, which are located in Lujiazui financial trading area in Pudong new district and the Exhibition Park in Shanghai. It has covered an area of 160,000 square meters and owned more than 2000 open beds. Recently the 90,000-square-meter building that is being built now will add 500 more beds to the total. Outpatient amount in 2015 adds up to 2.74 million which includes 50,000 foreign patients and about 6,3200 of cured patients who come from HongKong, Macau,Taiwan and mainland China and western developed countries. The hospital owns eight billion RMB worth of huge medical equipment which include SOMATOM Definition Flash CT,nuclear magnetic resonance of 3.0T,ultra high-speed electromagnetic tumor treatment apparatus,huge-pad DSA,PET-CT,assistant recycling systems and international top-class huge medical equipment and so on.

    医院现设置61个临床医技科室，员工2800余人，其中高级职称人员400余名，博士生导师69名，硕士生导师105名。拥有中国科学院院士、国家百千万人才工程国家级人选、国家千人计划和青年千人计划、教育部长江学者、国家杰出青年基金获得者、中组部青年拔尖人才、教育部新世纪优秀人才、国务院特殊津贴专家、国家优秀青年科学基金获得者等国家高层次人才26人；入选上海千人计划、上海领军人才、上海市优秀学科带头人、上海市百人计划、上海市东方学者、上海市青年科技启明星等市级高层次人才培养计划48人次。

The hospital is now equipped with 61 clinical medical technology rooms and more than 2,800 staff that includes more than 400 superior-qualification staff,69 doctoral supervisors and 105 master supervisors. There are 26 people who have the qualification for academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, National one-thousand talents’ Plan, Academicians of Yangtze Area of the department of education and recipients for the top national talents sciences foundation. There are more than 48 people who have met the qualification of Shanghai One-thousand Talents Plan, leading talents of Shanghai and so on.
